This course will help the learner to understand how to make sure they have got all the knowledge they need to provide high-quality care for the people they work with. It will help them to develop personally and professionally and evidence their competency to employers. The learner will learn about person-centred care and the best ways to provide support with everything from nutrition and hydration to personal hygiene and continence care.

Who is this programme for?
In the care sector, it’s important that residents and patients are treated with a friendly and caring approach. The need for high-quality, skilled and knowledgeable care workers has never been greater and this course enables those providers to offer knowledgeable care. These may be learners who wish to access this training with a view to progress to further qualifications or employment within health and social care, to complement other qualifications in apprenticeship frameworks within health or health and social care, or to develop in their current job role within health and social care.

How will I be taught?
You will be provided with the learning materials either online and/or hardcopies and you will have the support of a knowledgeable assessor/tutor who will give you guidance and feedback on the course as you complete it. This course takes between 2 to 6 months to complete.

What is the entry process?
There are no specific prior qualifications needed to access this qualification.
Due to government funding these courses are available free of charge; subject to the learners meeting the set eligibility. You must have lived in the UK/EU for the past 3 years and be over 19 years old. There may be a fee should you withdraw from the course.
